Dear Friends of the Carmel Central School District:

On behalf of the Board of Education, staff and myself, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year.

In the short time that I have been in the District, I have already gained a strong sense of this community’s commitment to providing students with the best quality education. I recognize that with the support and involvement of our parents and community, and the dedicated work of our staff, our students have experienced great success.

In the coming school year, we look forward to continuing this collaborative tradition and to offering outstanding academic and extra-curricular programs in an environment that celebrates the individual differences and talents of our students. Consistent with our District mission, we will continue striving to provide appropriate instruction and support for each and every child.

Please join us in our efforts on behalf of children. Our district calendar is one tool that our community can use to become familiar with our district, its schools, programs, important events and contact information. We invite you to attend our art shows, music concerts, plays, sporting events and parent organization activities. We also encourage you to visit our website, watch our cable TV channel 22, read our electronic and printed newsletters and to contact us with your questions and suggestions.

I am confident that with the involvement of our community, 2008-09 will be another stellar year for students of the Carmel Central School District.
