Philosophy & Vision

     The Carmel Central School District is committed to meeting the needs of each child, whenever possible, within a heterogeneous community of learners that mirrors and prepares students for the real world they will encounter in their adult lives and in the world of work and provides each student with access to the rich diversity of experience, talents and perspectives available within a multi-dimensional classroom. 
     As such, opportunities for enrichment and challenge for the talented student are primarily interwoven within the regular class program, with additional opportunities available for enrichment through extended day and co-curricular programs.  In the upper middle school grades, as students approach high school and more specialized content area studies, separate classes of advanced level study become available, as they are in the high school program.
